From Nov 1942 to Dec 1944, WASP flew 77 different types of Army Air Force aircraft, from the fastest fighters to the heaviest Bombers. There are stores that reach far beyond what these pages could show, but if you click on the type of aircraft you will see the individual planes and their statistics.
WASP flew every type of mission and in every type of aircraft in the entire Army Air Force arsenal. They absolutely proved without a doubt that airplanes do not know the difference between a male pilot and a female pilot. They only know a good pilot from a not so good pilot.
The WASP records were remarkable, yet their contribution to the victory in WWII unsung. That is, until 2010, when the Congress of the United States awarded them the Congressional Gold Medal. America finally said, ‘Thank you,” for their courage, their determination, patriotism, hard work, excellence, and their honor.
Thank you for wanting to know more about the WASP.
